SO I AM ON MY WAY TO MY MONDAY GROUP. IT'S A SMALL GROUP OF WOMEN DEDICATED TO THEIR RECOVERY FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. WE ALL COME FROM DIFFERENT WALKS OF LIFE AND SOME OF US STILL RESIDE WITH OUR ABUSERS, SOME OF US ARE IN A SHELTER, SOME ON OUR OWN. YET WE DO NOT JUDGE, WE ONLY LISTEN AND LET EACH OTHER KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE. WE SUGGEST TO KNOW ONE THAT THEY LEAVE OR THAT THEY ARE WRONG. WE KNOW THAT IT IS WHEN A WOMEN IS LEAVING HER ABUSER THAT IT IS ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS TIMES OF HER LIFE. WE KNOW THAT IS WHEN THE MOST DESPERATE ACTS OF HER ABUSER WILL OCCUR. WE KNOW THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO STAY SAFE, THAT THE MENTAL CONTROL EXERTED BY HER ABUSER IS ALMOST UNDEFINABLE. THAT IS WHY I DON'T GET THE NEWS MEDIA (ESPECIALLY GRACE FROM HEADLINE NEWS) HARANGUING THE WOMEN OF THE FLDS GROUP IN EL DORADO TEXAS. AM I THE ONLY PERSON SEEING AN ABUSE OF POWER AND CONTROL? BOTH FROM THE PATRIARCHAL SOCIETY THESE WOMEN COME FROM AND THE MEDIA THEY ARE TRYING TO TALK TO. AND GRACE- SHAME ON YOU. SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT SEEING THE REALITY OF AN ABUSED WOMAN WHEN IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, YOU WHO PROFESS TO BE THE CHAMPION OF VICTIMS EVERYWHERE. I BEG YOU, PLEASE STOP DISPLAYING EXPRESSIONS OF OUTRAGE WHILE PROCLAIMING "TO MY MIND......" AND PLEASE FOCUS ON THE STORY NOBODY ELSE WILL. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LEADS TO CHILD ABUSE. THEY WALK THE PATH OF LOST DREAMS TOGETHER BECAUSE MOTHERS ARE UNABLE TO PROTECT THEIR CHILDREN FROM VIOLENCE WHILE ENDURING IT THEMSELVES. THE BRAINWASHING NEEDS TO END FIRST, AND THAT WON'T HAPPEN UNTIL SOCIETY SUSPENDS ITS JUDGEMENT UPON THE MOTHERS.

It just gets worse and worse
Now that the story is beginning to come out, the news from Texas just keeps sounding worse and worse. In what is being called the largest child abuse case in history, Texas officials have removed about 400 children and teenagers as well as many of the their mothers from a religious compound. When listening to this story, keep in mind the far-reaching consequences of the religious leaders on their victims. Claiming that their right to practice religion free from the persecution of our government will not carry any weight with the state since the constitution does not condone abuse. I am enraged when I hear this type of rhetoric and hope that these leaders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of Texas law.
